About The Position

Full-time Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classroom teacher (Rule 340.1755) within Rochester Community Schools Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) classrooms. This teacher position is part of a team of teachers and providers who coordinate educational services for students eligible for special education through implementation of the High Scope Curriculum and in accordance with the GSRP guidelines.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in area of responsibility
• Current, valid Michigan Teacher Certification with special education in early childhood (ZS/ZA endorsement)
• Ability to work well with students, staff and parents in a collaborative fashion
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Teaching whole group or small group lessons
• Teaming with staff
• Monitoring and implementing IEP goals within daily routines in the classroom setting
• Team collaboration and consultation with GSRP teacher, associate teacher and special education ancillary staff
• Supporting assessment and evaluation findings through data collection and tracking
• Coordinating or providing modification and accommodation of curricular material as needed
• Completing data collection activities, training, and reporting as directed through the Oakland Schools and the Michigan Department of Education
