About The Position

Oversee functions for ESSF child development center and provide direct supervision and mentoring to teaching staff. This role involves program development, personnel management, operational administration, and compliance. The coordinator will plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise an early intervention program in compliance with all grants and funding guidelines, ensuring program goals and objectives are met and service delivery is consistent with funding requirements. They will mentor teaching staff, conduct classroom observations, provide feedback, and plan professional development. The role also includes providing instructional programs, supporting curriculum implementation, and ensuring developmentally appropriate practices. Monitoring compliance with licensing regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., NAEYC), and program policies is crucial. The coordinator will participate in meetings and training, identify areas for improvement, and ensure timely completion of reporting requirements for funding contracts. Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, volunteers, and visitors are primary responsibilities. The role also assists with enrollment, scheduling, and program operations, and requires compliance with emergency procedures, including participation in drills and assuming responsibility for non-clinical duties during emergencies. A flexible schedule is required, along with other duties to ensure the smooth running of Easter Seals South Florida.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
ITDS Certification.
Computer knowledge in Word, Excel and Publisher.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to communicate well with diverse populations, promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
Ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
Knowledge of after school programming.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information of participants and staff.
Demonstrated ability to interact positively and effectively with participants, caregivers, employees and the community.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise an early intervention program in compliance with all grants and funding guidelines.
Ensure that program goals and objectives are met and provide service delivery in a manner consistent with all funding requirements.
Supervise and mentor teaching staff in the planning and program delivery to ensure high quality standards and best practices are met.
Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to educators.
Plan and facilitate professional development and staff training.
Provide instructional programs with materials, activities and adaptations in accordance with the philosophies and polices of the program and best practices.
Plan for and use instructional methods that motivate and enable each child to achieve their learning objectives.
Support curriculum implementation and ensure developmentally appropriate practices.
Monitor compliance with licensing regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., NAEYC), and program policies.
Actively participate in instructor meetings, workshops and / or in-service training.
Work to continually identify areas for improvement utilizing monitoring reports and data collected from staff and partners.
Ensure the timely completion of reporting requirements and applications for the continuation of funding contracts.
Ensure confidentiality of each family and child, all information; as well as the security and safety of all documents/checks.
Ensure a safe environment in the program with primary importance on the safety and well being of each student.
Assist with enrollment, scheduling, and program operations.
Ensure the safety of all staff, volunteers, visitors and individuals receiving services at Easter Seals.
Act in compliance with Medical and Non-Medical Emergency Procedures.
Assist individuals in evacuating building during emergency situations to include but not limited to: fire drills and external disaster drills.
Assume assigned responsibility for non-clinical duties during disaster and/or drills including but not limited to safety of files/office areas, closure of doors.
Work a flexible schedule as required.
Other related duties as necessary to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of Easter Seals South Florida as a whole.
