About The Position

To work with Children’s Ministry Early Childhood Director to create a safe and loving environment that navigates kids and families to God by teaching kids to seek Jesus, share Jesus, and serve Jesus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or working towards a bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of this position which include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, and must be capable of lifting to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Effective communication skills to communicate in writing and verbally with a variety of audiences.
  • Microsoft Office products knowledge and experience
  • Ability to lead staff in planning dynamic and age-appropriate events. Including budgeting and forecasting events.
  • Must have a servant’s heart for ministry, serving with a positive attitude and spirit.
  • Must be of moral and spiritual integrity in all areas of your walk and life.
  • Every staff member is expected to fully engage in the ministry of the church. This includes attending a weekend service and tithing.
  • We consider ministry readiness, and an individual’s capacity to represent Compass Church’s beliefs, during the selection process for all positions.
  • Each member of the Compass Church team takes a “how can I help” approach to ministry. While each team member has individual areas of responsibility, collaboration and support permeate our culture. There is no task below a team member at Compass. If we see something that needs to be done, we do it!

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervision experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in Children’s Ministry or Early Childhood experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure a fun and safe environment for Early Childhood children during weekend programming.
  • Print and prep curriculum for each classroom 3 months – pre-K so volunteers have what they need to teach kids about Jesus.
  • Prep classrooms for weekend programming and return the classrooms back, as needed, for weekday preschool.
  • Manage curriculum supplies.
  • Assist parents, volunteers and visitors as needed – including check-in
  • Assist in providing discipling resources for parents.
  • Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers.
  • Work with the Early Childhood Director and Compass Outreach to identify opportunities for families to serve together.
  • Uphold Compass Christian Church’s mission, core values and 12 staff commandments
  • Be involved in the implementation of ministry at the campus.
