About The Position

The Benton School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Paraprofessional to join our Pre-K team. This position supports instruction and child supervision in a Better Beginnings-accredited classroom serving children ages 3–5. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to foster a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment in alignment with state standards and Benton’s commitment to early childhood excellence.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (required)
Must be 18 years or older and pass state background checks
Must be registered in the Arkansas Professional Development Registry (PDR) or willing to register upon hire
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., sit on the floor, and actively engage in play
Willingness to assist with hygiene and diapering if needed

Nice To Haves

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred or willingness to obtain
Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

Assist with the planning and implementation of classroom activities that support growth in all developmental domains.
Supervise children at all times and ensure a safe, engaging classroom environment.
Reinforce positive behavior strategies and support classroom management routines.
Help prepare learning materials, organize the classroom, and support transitions between activities.
Assist with meal/snack time, toileting routines, and general hygiene support as needed.
Support data collection, observations, and documentation for developmental assessments.
Communicate positively with children, families, and staff to support strong school-family relationships.
Participate in required professional development and maintain all training per Arkansas licensing and Better Beginnings guidelines.
