About The Position

Bach To Rock is seeking a part-time Music Teacher at its West Seattle location to provide music and performance lessons to students. The teacher uses Bach to Rock curriculum to deliver an inspiring, well-balanced music education, teaching theory and technique through music students know and love. Students may perform, record in the studio, and compose original music. The role leads early childhood classes such as Rock n Roll, Rock City, and/or Kids n Keys. The teacher prepares and delivers instruction using detailed lesson plans and activities, creates a warm and welcoming setting for young children, and uses curriculum recommendations to encourage and educate caregivers attending with toddlers. The teacher may also assist at Bach to Rock events. The position offers a flexible part-time schedule in a fun environment with other musicians. The school handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects so teachers can focus on teaching. Hourly pay is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability.

Requirements

Background in the arts, such as theatre, art, or music.
Comfort working in an active and noisy setting.
Effective time-management and organizational skills to keep a group of students engaged.
Ability to work and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities.
Understanding of basic music concepts and ability to communicate them in a developmentally and age-appropriate manner to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Ability to interact effectively with children and adults.
Ability to play a musical instrument.
Ability to sing a cappella (unaccompanied).
Ability to operate basic sound equipment and computers.
Ability to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Playing piano, keys, or guitar is preferred.

Responsibilities
