About The Position

OhioGuidestone is seeking an Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist to provide creative interventions using play, art, and music to support the development and growth of children (birth to age 6) and their families. The therapist will work in various settings, including clients' homes, the community, and the office. This role offers opportunities for skill development through excellent training, ongoing team support, and individualized supervision to maintain professional licenses. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
  • LSW+ or LPC+ license and related educational requirement.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emotional and mental dysfunctions.
  • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to form relationships with diverse populations within diverse settings.
  • Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple clients.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Electronic Health Records, Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screen.
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy to an assigned caseload, potentially including specialty therapeutic services (e.g., SUD, Maternal Depression).
  • Complete documented evidence-based Treatment Plans after the first client encounter and review progress toward therapy goals/objectives in each subsequent progress note.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and caregivers, providing support as appropriate.
  • Respond to mental health emergencies in a culturally responsive manner, acknowledging clients' unique and intersecting personal and cultural identities.
  • Identify appropriate interventions for clients in crisis, collaborate with staff to access resources, and engage community partners for effective client support plans.
  • Provide Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST), SUD Targeted Case Management, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and/or care coordination functions as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison to coordinate services, make referrals, or arrange for community resources, acting as a client advocate.
  • Actively participate in treatment conferences and meetings for clients.
  • Maintain ongoing frequent contact with other assigned OhioGuidestone professionals or outside agency professionals assigned to the case.
  • Accurately and promptly document and maintain client and family interactions, including legal, financial, and clinical documentation, within agency guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in regular supervision.
  • Maintain all required licenses.
  • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment, and represent the agency positively in all interactions.
