About The Position

Child Focus is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to join their team. This role is an opportunity to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build healthier communities by providing meaningful support to early childcare centers as part of the Whole Child Matters Initiative. Consultants will provide evidence-based strategies to promote the social-emotional development of young children by delivering a coaching model to caregivers (child care teachers and directors, parents) based on the Georgetown Model/Ohio Model of the Consultative Stance in early childhood centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Mental Health
  • Master's in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Credential/licensure: LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW, LPCC

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based strategies to promote social-emotional development of young children by delivering a coaching model to caregivers (child care teachers and directors, parents) based on the Georgetown Model/Ohio Model of the Consultative Stance in early childhood centers.
  • Link families to resources to address mental/behavioral health children difficulties may face.
  • Assist early childhood educators in understanding trauma and determining when to make referrals to mental health services.
  • Collect data for the role.
