About The Position

The Early Childhood Family Service Worker coordinates and plans programs and activities to meet the social and emotional needs of children and families. This position coordinates health screenings, social services, and parent involvement activities and prepares all necessary paperwork. The service worker provides crisis intervention and assists families in understanding the implications and complexities of the situation and its impact on one’s lifestyle. This position makes appropriate referrals as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to create strong working relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Analytical mindset & problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and coach others
  • Ability to hold strict confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
