About The Position

BGC Okanagan is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Educator with Infant Toddler certification for our Early Years Program at the Anne McClymont Club in Kelowna, BC. This temporary position offers the opportunity to support the growth, learning, and well-being of young children and their families. Requirements

• BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate with current License to Practice
• Infant Toddler Certification
• Two (2) years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Successful completion of the agency screening process, including a clear criminal record check
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Welcome new children and their families to the program, ensuring all enrolment information is in order, including medical, emergency, dietary, and parental forms, in compliance with childcare licensing requirements.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate and age-specific activities and experiences for children using various techniques, and develop daily program schedules that include indoor/outdoor, active/quiet, and individual/group activities.
• Ensure all activities adhere to BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
• Identify children's abilities, interests, and needs to develop individualized and group curriculum, and recommend referrals or additional services for children with professionals such as behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
• Report on progress, behaviors, and other issues, and contribute to reports for children with disabilities, maintaining records, care plans, and statistics.
• Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive guiding techniques through daily interaction with children and team members.
• Attend to children's physical needs, including diapering, toileting, and feeding.
• Administer first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
• Maintain a healthy, safe, culturally appropriate, and developmentally appropriate environment for children's learning and growth, identifying and removing potential hazards.
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians, discussing children's growth and development, and requesting input and participation from parents in program development.
