Implements age and developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities within the established guidelines. Implements daily lesson/activity plans for the classroom, submitting them weekly. Supervises children and non-lead teachers, classroom, and all activities. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child. Participates in parent conferences when necessary, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Maintains program site and equipment, as well as required program records. Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, material explorations, staff meetings, and staff training. Promotes, establishes, and maintains a positive YMCA image at all times, dressing in an appropriate and professional manner following YMCA rules and guidelines. Follows YMCA work rules and procedures to complete all assigned tasks and duties in an efficient, timely, and positive manner at all times. Models anti-biased behavior towards children, parents, or staff. Follows all YMCA, Child Development Department, and State Licensing policies and procedures at all times, maintaining State Licensing and staff/child ratio requirements. Helps orient new parents and children to the program, assisting with tours as needed. Is flexible with room assignments, willing to assist in classrooms that need help with a positive attitude. Addresses parent concerns and comments in a timely and professional manner, keeping the Early Learning Center Director informed of all parent concerns and issues. Cooperates with the director through any program changes, investigations, and coaching opportunities.
