About The Position

The School for Dine Studies and Education at the Tsaile Campus is seeking an Early Childhood Education Faculty member. The candidate will perform all duties of a faculty member faithfully and satisfactorily in accordance with the highest level of professional standards. This role involves teaching, student advising, creative activities, committee assignments, and community service. Responsibilities may include involvement in off-campus activities, evening or weekend duties, and student recruitment and placement efforts. The faculty member will be expected to maintain and improve competence in their subject area, prepare teaching materials, confer with students, direct research and portfolios, supervise group studies and practicums, review written work, evaluate artistic presentations, supervise independent study projects, and oversee teaching internships. Student advising includes mentoring students on academic, curricular, and career matters. Research activities focus on creating and advancing knowledge in the field. Professional service involves utilizing expertise to serve the profession, community, state, nation, and world.

Requirements

MA in Early Childhood Education or Education
Knowledge of the most current trends, issues, innovations, and practices in the field of expertise, including teaching modalities, teaching strategies, syllabus management, curriculum development and management, assessment management, and lesson planning.
Knowledge of early childhood physical growth and development such as cognitive growth and development, social-emotional growth and development, and physical development such as gross and fine motor skills.
Effective computer skills
Online teaching skills
Classroom management skills
Oral and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively and collegially in a small, highly active, dedicated, and supportive group of colleagues.
Ability to tailor lesson plans to fit different learning styles of students with varying backgrounds and experiences.
Ability to build, maintain, and manage courses in the Canvas Learning Management System.
Ability to develop, explain, and enforce educational policies.
Ability to work with people from divergent cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Be able to explain and enforce educational policies.
Faculty shall be able to travel to worksites of assignments at multiple campuses.
Possess a valid driver's license.
Have the ability to speak and write Navajo text
