About The Position

The candidate shall perform all duties of a faculty member faithfully and satisfactorily in accordance with the highest level of professional standards. The position involves teaching, student advising, creative activities, committee assignments, and community service. Responsibilities may include off-campus activities, evening or weekend duties, and student recruitment and placement efforts. Teaching responsibilities encompass classroom and laboratory time, maintaining competence, preparing materials, conferring with students, directing research and portfolios, supervising group studies and practicum, reviewing examinations and papers, evaluating artistic presentations, supervising independent study projects, and supervising or teaching internships. Student advising involves meeting and mentoring students on academic, curricular, and career matters. Research activities aim to create and advance knowledge in a field of study. Professional service involves using academic and professional expertise to serve the profession, community, state, nation, and world.

Requirements

MA in Early Childhood Education or Education
Effective computer skills
Online teaching skills
Classroom management skills

Ability to work collaboratively and collegially in a small, highly active, dedicated, and supportive group of colleagues.
Ability to tailor lesson plans to fit different learning styles of students with varying backgrounds and experiences.
Ability to build, maintain, and manage courses in the Canvas Learning Management System.
Ability to develop, explain, and enforce educational policies.
Ability to work with people from divergent cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Be able to explain and enforce educational policies.
Possess a valid driver's license.
Ability to speak and write Navajo text

Nice To Haves

EdD or PhD
Knowledge of the most current trends, issues, innovations, and practices in the field of expertise, including teaching modalities, teaching strategies, syllabus management, curriculum development and management, assessment management, and lesson planning.
Knowledge of early childhood physical growth and development such as cognitive growth and development, social-emotional growth and development, and physical development such as gross and fine motor skills.
