About The Position

National Louis University (NLU) is proactively recruiting for future openings in its Adjunct Pool for teaching positions in Early Childhood Education within the Undergraduate College. The role involves facilitating blended classes that utilize technology and data to drive instruction, encouraging growth mindset, increasing non-cognitive skill development, and nurturing academic confidence. The university emphasizes a student-focused, data-driven, and innovative educational model that supports first-generation students with a focus on holistic development. Adjunct faculty are expected to be agile, creative, engaging, and committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or above in Curriculum & Instruction, Early Childhood, Reading & Early Literacy, Early Childhood Administration, or Childhood Development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Passionate about working with a highly diverse student body.
  • Excellent facilitation and classroom management skills.
  • Agile and creative in pedagogy and student support.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support based on student needs.
  • Ability to consistently connect instruction to real-world relevance.
  • Willing to pursue and support students in multiple modalities.
  • Technology proficient, including experience with digital tools for teaching.
  • Experience teaching in online or blended/hybrid formats.
  • Willing and able to use data to inform instruction.
  • Effective adult collaboration skills.
  • Experience using a learning management system.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experienced educators who expect and desire to grow pedagogically.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate blended courses using technology and data to drive instruction.
  • Encourage growth mindset, non-cognitive skill development, and academic confidence in students.
  • Collaborate with faculty teams to develop an effective student experience.
  • Deliver engaging instruction in a blended, flipped classroom environment.
  • Empower students to develop competency by sharing a passion for the subject and skills.
  • Utilize technology-based teaching platforms, including adaptive courseware engines.
  • Maintain current and active content knowledge in the expertise area.
  • Demonstrate and share a passion for postsecondary success for diverse learners.
  • Provide personalized student support, including office hours.
  • Identify gaps between student needs and resources and generate creative resolutions.
  • Track student course data weekly in university data systems.
  • Engage in regular data-driven planning meetings with faculty, coaches, and support specialists.
  • Participate in regular content area team meetings with peer faculty to review curriculum.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of UGC curriculum.
  • Document and share suggestions for curriculum revision.
  • Create, attend, and participate in training opportunities.
  • Contribute to a learning culture by participating on committees and supporting campus events.
