About The Position
The Goddard School in Philadelphia-Spring Garden is seeking a full-time assistant teacher/floater to join their growing team. The school is committed to creating fun, hands-on learning experiences for children and is a leader in the franchised preschool industry, focusing on professional approaches to health, safety, and fostering a lifelong love of learning. The faculty consists of caring, dedicated, and highly qualified childhood educators who use creativity and state-specific learning outcomes to develop unique lesson plans. The role of a Teacher involves establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment, designing appropriate room arrangements, understanding emergency procedures, and posting schedules. Additionally, a resource floater teacher supports lead and assistant teachers in classrooms across all age groups. The Goddard School emphasizes teamwork, lesson plan development, and classroom management according to their standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Prior childcare experience required
- Meet the qualifications of his/her state and those set forth in the National Standards for hiring
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience and an education-related degree are preferred
Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in your classroom
- Understanding and implementing, when necessary, The Goddard School’s emergency procedures
- Posting schedules that meet the children’s need for routine and learning
- Ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs
- Building teamwork
