About The Position

Kingsley Montessori School is seeking an After School Program Teacher for an Early Childhood program, running from August to December 2026. The school is looking for reflective, intentional educators who can contribute to a progressive, integrated curriculum informed by Montessori pedagogy. This role involves sharing responsibility for the After School Program student experience and fostering strong partnerships with colleagues and parents. It offers an opportunity to engage with various aspects of an independent school. Teachers are expected to work whenever school is in session, during vacation programs, and optionally during summer programs. Responsibilities include attending regular meetings and collaborating with faculty on curriculum management, after school schedules, student needs, and the learning environment. The After School Program Teacher reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs. This is a 10-month, full-time position with benefits, specifically working with Early Childhood students. Kingsley Montessori School is a toddler through sixth-grade independent school with 300 students in Boston’s historic Back Bay. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance curriculum and community
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of each child

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with and/or an interest in learning more about Montessori pedagogy [American Montessori Society (AMS) / Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) teaching credentials are a plus but are not required]

Responsibilities

  • Assist with classroom coverage as needed throughout the school
  • Support with coverage during recess, lunch, P.E. class, and other occasions as needed
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure continuity between the classroom and After School Program
  • Develop lesson plans and activities and lead engaging hands-on lessons in collaboration with classroom teachers and other after school teachers
  • Maintaining classroom spaces
  • Implementing strict safety protocols including monitoring student attendance and safely escorting students throughout campus
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each student
  • Lead safe After School trips to locations off-campus
  • Observe all rules and regulations of Kingsley Montessori School
  • Maintain overall professional personal appearance
