WSP is initiating a search for an Early Career Mechanical Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines) for our Fort Mill, South Carolina office. The role involves projects with the Power Delivery Carolina Line Team, contributing to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges. As part of WSP, a leading professional services firm with expertise in power delivery, power generation, and project management (enhanced by the acquisition of POWER Engineers, Inc.), the company aims to be the preeminent pure-play global consulting firm for the world's energy transition. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, supporting a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills. This includes learning basic principles of Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering, assisting with project research, field work, preliminary design calculations and analysis, and supporting the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. The role also involves assisting in collecting and maintaining project documentation, completing training on assigned tasks, and exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.
