About The Position

ABS Global, a Genus company, has exciting opportunities for Temporary Part-time Production Lab Technicians to participate in production operations, including assembly, processing, and/or packaging. These positions are located at our labs in Rio, WI and Windsor, WI. The primary accountability is operating production equipment for processing cell sexing technology. These positions are hired for a period of 3 months and can be extended depending on work availability. These roles are ideal for Early Career applicants looking to gain lab experience while attending school, and are designed to accommodate educational programs like the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) Program through Wisconsin Workforce Development and Madison Area Technical College. This position will allow you to satisfy the minimum work experience requirements for these programs. The Early Career Program Manager will work with your manager to help ensure YA documentation standards are completed for the program. This is an ongoing job posting.

Requirements

  • Must possess or be working toward a local High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in and attending a local course of education either in high school, GED program, technical college or university.
  • Must live locally, no relocation authorized for this role.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift/transfer 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on always maintaining the highest level of quality.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse to accomplish work tasks (includes but is not limited to the ability to look at computer monitor screens for the entirety of assigned shift).
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Follow SOP and maintain lab documentation.
  • Provide accurate, timely and quality packaging of bovine semen in accordance with ABS standards.
  • Learn other ancillary processes throughout the production lab as business needs necessitate.
  • Adhere to proper cleaning, sanitation and sterilization protocols for all processing and collection equipment.
  • Provide ideas for improvement in the work environment.
  • Communicate issues to appropriate personnel (leads, supervisors, manager, support group).
  • Perform all assigned duties based on daily production needs.
  • Follow safe work procedures and report any incidents.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
