About The Position

Provides telephonic support, coaching, training, resource coordination, and case management for Employee Assistance Program members who have been referred via the Administrative Referral Program. Manages consultations with human resources managers, referrals to providers, completes documentation, and conducts research. Medical Mutual employees must submit their applications through MySource. This role is fully remote with a strong preference for candidates living in the US Central or Eastern Time Zone. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health field (social work, psychology, counseling, or related field), or equivalent education and experience in Human Resources.
  • 5 years of experience as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor or in clinical behavioral health, or as a professional in human resources.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR), Society of Human Resources Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
  • Active, current, and unrestricted license in the state employed is required (if applicable to assigned geographic area).
  • Assessment, triage, in the moment support, research and case management skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency using Windows-based programs and applications, including Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of general human resources standards of practice, behavioral health conditions, and level of care recommendations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and Protected Health Information (PHI) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and completes case management of Administrative Referrals.
  • Conducts telephonic triage and assessment on issues including behavioral health, substance abuse, relationship, and work-life, to members and coordinates resources.
  • Consults with service providers to make referrals and complete session authorizations.
  • Follows cases to completion.
  • Provides coaching and training to Members based on needs assessment.
  • Consults with Human Resources and supervisory personnel from client companies regarding employee issues and concerns and HR practice policy.
  • Utilizes computer-based case management system to complete professional documentation.
  • Provides referrals to service provider network and/or other resources as appropriate for financial concerns, legal concerns, personal assistant, and work-life requests.
  • Makes clinical determinations in adherence with Company risk policy and in the member and Company’s best interest.
  • Maintains industry knowledge, ethical code, and licensure requirements in the state of licensure.
  • Assists co-workers with case management, completion and follow up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
