This position pertains to an Economic Consultant within the Fiscal Policy and Growth (FPG) unit in the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan & Pakistan (MENAAP) region. The work program will cover Iran, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, combining country-specific macroeconomic monitoring, forecasting, analytical work and policy dialogue. The Consultant is expected to support core economic monitoring products, including Macro Poverty Outlooks (MPOs), country briefs, economic updates and other analytical outputs, while helping the team deepen its engagement on macro-fiscal policy, growth, structural reforms, economic diversification, inflation, exchange rate and external sector developments, fiscal sustainability and medium-term economic prospects. The position will require close collaboration with country economists, the Senior Economist, Lead Economist, Country Management Units and relevant Global Practices. Subject to work program needs, the Consultant may also provide cross-support to other MENAAP countries as requested by the Practice Manager.
