About The Position

The WBG Treasury is responsible for managing approximately $300 billion in assets, leading financing programs, conducting asset and liability management, overseeing product development, and collaborating with member countries to build financial market capacity. The Treasury Operations Department (TREOP) provides operational support for Treasury’s businesses, with the Treasury Asset & Liability Operations team (TREAL) specifically supporting over $300 billion in AUM and $450 billion in outstanding debt and derivatives transactions. TREAL focuses on evaluating and deploying new products and technologies like CBDC, blockchain, and AI to improve efficiency and reduce risk, and has received industry awards for its innovative work. TREAL staff are located in Washington DC, Chennai, India, and Sofia, Bulgaria.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computers, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent with at least two years of experience.
• Strong programming, quantitative, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with business-related IT development or IT technology projects, including user acceptance testing and its related documentation.
• Proven capacity to multi-task, deliver results, and respond quickly and effectively to requests.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent transactions on a tight timetable, consistent with a high level of client expectations.
• Original thinking / quick learning abilities with strong initiative and drive, as well as attention to details.
• Good team player with strong communication (written and oral) skills, and commitment to work in a respectful, team-oriented, and multi-cultural environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and people management skills, with the ability to interact tactfully with clients and/or business associates across all levels, while exercising sound judgment in handling confidential information.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certifications such as a CFA.
• Experience with AI and Machine Learning projects.
• Previous exposure to FinTech related knowledge.
• Knowledge of Python and Microsoft tools and applications like Power Query, Power BI, Power Apps.
• Proficiency in a second language.

Responsibilities

• Use technology tools (AI, Machine Learning, and programming languages like Python) to perform and automate various facets of post-execution activities for fixed income, derivatives, and cash products.
• Work closely with internal departments (Accounting, Banking, Credit, Development Finance, Legal, Technology, Valuation) and external parties (Counterparts, Custodians, Futures Commission Merchants, Calculation, Collateral and Fiscal Agents).
• Ensure cash management and settlement of fixed income and derivatives portfolios and resolve rate discrepancies and cash disputes for over 90 internal and client portfolios.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and compliance with changes to TREAL procedures, processes, and standards.
• Develop training and skill enhancement initiatives and join missions to transfer global knowledge and experience for client advisory projects.
