The Department of Social Services (DSS) comprises the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA focuses on fighting poverty and inequality by providing essential benefits, while DHS works to address and prevent homelessness. The Information Technology Services (ITS) organization within DSS supports the technology needs of both agencies, developing and enhancing the infrastructure and applications used for various services. The Technology Enablement unit specifically identifies and addresses training needs for new user training, software releases, and ongoing learning support through various methods including classroom training, webinars, and asynchronous instructional videos. This unit specializes in training needs analysis, agile training development, instructional design, and in-house video production. The eLearning Developer role within ITS/Technology Enablement is responsible for assessing and implementing complex IT initiatives, performing complex IT project work, and delivering usable software systems and technology solutions. This role involves building, creating, and testing technical, online, asynchronous, and webinar-based computer training courses, modules, and videos for new and updated ITS software systems. The developer will also publish these training materials to the DSS Agency's learning management system for staff use and as a desk reference.
