About The Position

This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on industrial equipment. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery, adhering to all safety protocols, and completing necessary training. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, mechanical repairs, and general maintenance procedures. The candidate will also be expected to maintain a clean work area, report any safety concerns, and document all actions taken.

Requirements

Experience performing electrical maintenance on 480 VAC systems.
Experience with instrumentation.
Knowledge of PLC fundamentals.
Experience with masonry, carpentry, and pipefitting (regular and stainless steel).
Experience with metal fabrication and welding.
Experience with lift truck repair.
Experience with machinery repair.
Experience with rebuilds of refiners, gearboxes, and pumps.
Experience with lubrication.
Experience with compressed air maintenance.
Experience with minor machining, micrometers, lathe, and/or milling machine operations.
Experience with vibration data collection.
Ability to read blueprints.
Experience with laser shaft alignment.
Experience with boiler/steam systems.
Experience with rigging.
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience with fire protection systems.
Experience with paper machine dryer safety/maintenance.
Experience with basic electrical work.
Experience with web inspection systems.
Experience with electrical drive systems.
Experience with general plumbing.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to do work that involves considerable stooping, bending, and working on scaffolds.
Ability to do work that requires climbing and working at various heights.
Must be willing to further education through training and seminars.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in a related field or experience in industrial or commercial electrical trades.
Minimum of two years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical trades.
Understanding of OSHA safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Able to work independently or in a team environment.
Strong mathematical skills.
Strong decision-making skills.
Able to read and follow written and verbal work instructions.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial or commercial maintenance.
Thorough knowledge of Lock out Tag out procedures.
Familiarity with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) standards.
Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).

Responsibilities

Perform electrical maintenance and repair on 480 VAC systems.
Conduct instrumentation calibration and repair.
Work with PLC fundamentals.
Perform masonry, carpentry, and pipefitting (regular and stainless steel).
Engage in metal fabrication and welding.
Repair lift trucks and other machinery.
Rebuild components such as refiners, gearboxes, and pumps.
Perform lubrication tasks.
Maintain compressed air systems.
Perform minor machining, including using micrometers, lathes, and milling machines.
Collect vibration data.
Read and interpret blueprints.
Perform laser shaft alignment.
Maintain boiler/steam systems.
Conduct rigging operations.
Work with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Maintain fire protection systems.
Perform maintenance on paper machine dryers.
Conduct basic electrical work.
Maintain web inspection systems.
Work with electrical drive systems.
Perform general plumbing tasks.
Follow all safety rules and use required safety equipment.
Complete all required training, including electrical training per OSHA standards.
Work overtime as required.
Be available for emergency call-ins 24/7 and work shifts as needed.
Participate in a rotation schedule for weekend call-in coverage if implemented.
Perform work involving stooping, bending, and working on scaffolds.
Perform work requiring climbing and working at various heights.
Clean up work areas at the end of each day.
Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous situations.
Document all corrective actions taken.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel to other TRP mills and offices as required.
Further education through training and seminars.
