The E & I Planner is responsible for the initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of the required level of planning, including applicable QA/QC requirements for jobs. This role involves conducting field walk-downs to identify and document job requirements, including specific safety hazards. The planner will develop comprehensive work packages, provide off-hour support, create and maintain job plans for repetitive maintenance activities, and offer planning and support for equipment outages, unit shutdowns, and plantwide turnarounds. A key responsibility is accurately measuring the maintenance backlog and maintaining at least two weeks of ready backlog. The role also includes monitoring the lifecycle of work orders, maintaining professional conduct according to John H. Carter Co., Inc. policies, and performing other assigned tasks. Communication efforts, both internal and external, are crucial to ensure clear understanding of accuracy and timeliness requirements. The position requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaboratively with development and support staff. The E & I Planner will provide technical advice and work closely with the I/E Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, and the reliability group. Duties may change based on business needs, customer demands, or other circumstances.
