The E-Discovery Division of the NYC Law Department is seeking an E-Discovery Project Manager (Assistant Corporation Counsel). The Division includes attorneys, project managers, and e-discovery analysts who work with case teams and agency counsel to meet the Law Department’s e-discovery needs. It provides legal and technical guidance and services across the e-discovery process, including strategy development, legal holds, collection and processing of electronic data, document review, use of analytical tools, and document production. The position consists primarily of project management and technical work rather than legal work. The Project Manager supports Law Department attorneys responding to production requests in litigation, Freedom of Information Law requests, civil investigative demands, subpoenas, and other document demands. Working with case teams, Division colleagues, and outside service providers, the Project Manager develops and implements strategies for managing data from collection through final review and production. The role includes hands-on management of collecting, processing, loading, reviewing, and producing electronic data and images using various e-discovery platforms. The role requires a deep understanding of e-discovery principles, practices, and technologies, including experience guiding attorneys through the e-discovery process. It is particularly suited to attorneys seeking meaningful public service and involvement in managing and collecting critical litigation documents.
