About The Position

This individual contributor role is responsible for the daily execution of e-commerce catalog operations, site merchandising, search optimization, and direct communication channels. Ensuring a scalable backend architecture, this position curates a premium customer journey through product listings, visual deployment, and high-quality review curation. Additionally, the role executes critical monthly email and SMS campaigns while managing acquisition tactics. Like all roles at Ruffwear, this person has a first-hand understanding of the interactive bond between canines and humans and a passion for the outdoors.

Requirements

  • Experience with Shopify backend architecture, product feeds, and metafields.
  • Familiarity with Klayvio, Attentive, and Okendo.
  • Familiarity with Figma
  • Familiarity with search visibility tactics, including SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
  • Familiarity with Conversion Rate Optimization and customer funnel concepts.
  • Self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention-to-detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines.
  • Comfort physically interacting with dogs (and their humans) of all temperaments, sizes, shapes, breed, ages, abilities, backgrounds, etc.
  • Keyboarding, gross or fine motor manipulation, or the use of foot or leg controls.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • Ability to accurately, loudly, or quickly express or exchange ideas using spoken word.
  • Near or far visual acuity or peripheral vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, Communications, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and hands-on professional experience within e-Commerce Marketing.
  • Direct experience in the outdoor, pet and/or consumer products industry.

Responsibilities

  • Own Shopify product catalog, product info metafields, and complex global theme updates to ensure a scalable and accurate backend architecture.
  • Manage all product listings with visual assets and copy while also ensuring seamless deployment of banner, navigation, and header images across the site.
  • Drive ongoing SEO and AI Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to maximize organic reach, site visibility, and brand placement within AI-generated search results.
  • Support on-site conversion initiatives by identifying user friction points and implementing tactical merchandising and content adjustments to improve the shopping experience in conjunction with the Digital UX Lead.
  • Oversee the weekly review publishing process. Curate and highlight high-quality customer reviews and photos for the site, ensure timely moderation, and route any critical product feedback or customer service issues.
  • Manage global website storefront clones, updating site content in conjunction with global brand strategy + critical theme updates.
  • Manage Klayvio, Attentive, and Okendo accounts to support lead acquisition, consumer loyalty, and revenue growth, troubleshooting issues and informing stakeholders.
  • Analyzes daily email and SMS performance, creating monthly reports with trends and recommendations for future channel strategies.
  • Execution of building out monthly Campaigns and Automations – Both Email and SMS with possible other forms of outreach.
  • Execution of on site pop up acquisition strategies and performance.
