About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within a highly automated E-commerce Fulfillment Center (EFC), ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. Responsible for facility maintenance and repair including building maintenance, equipment repair, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning repair, and telephone and computer installations. Oversee Maintenance department operations and responsible for: ordering parts and equipment, approving billing statements, contacting suppliers/vendors, and making building enhancement proposals. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in automation systems, and a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance leadership within a distribution, manufacturing, or automated environment.
  • Experience with automated material handling systems.
  • Strong background in electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
  • Must be able to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems with several variables.
  • Must have the ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Must have the ability to interview to obtain basic information; compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; evaluate technical data; and counsel or advise people.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor system performance and KPIs (uptime, MTBF, MTTR) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage maintenance budget, including parts, labor, and external services.

  • Trade school, vocational training, or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs building & equipment repairs, investigates reported problem areas, and contacts suppliers/vendors.
  • Establishes work orders and develops schedules to implement assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for the ordering of equipment repair parts.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a preventive maintenance (PM) program based on manufacturer recommendations and operational needs.
  • Incorporate predictive maintenance practices (vibration analysis, thermal imaging, runtime tracking, etc.) to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Plans building renovations and makes estimates of equipment, lighting, and fixtures needed by the proposal, and makes recommendations to supervisor.
  • Ensures the maintenance department operates in a safe manner.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of: Powered conveyor systems, KNAPP shuttle and picking systems, PLCs, sensors, and controls, Electric motors and drives, Forklifts and material handling equipment, Dock equipment and roll-up doors, Air compressors and pneumatic systems, Refrigeration systems, Fire suppression systems, Facility infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), Operational assets such as carts, bins, and storage equipment.
  • Utilize CMMS to manage work orders, track maintenance history, and optimize asset performance.
  • Maintain appropriate spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available while controlling costs.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for troubleshooting, repairs, and system upgrades.
