The E&C Engineer supports hydroelectric facilities across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Upper Michigan, with a primary focus on hydro-related mechanical capital projects and reliability initiatives. The role is project-management heavy, with approximately 75% of effort devoted to capital project management and 25% to technical engineering expertise. The engineer manages mechanical capital projects across approximately 20 hydro plants, including work involving turbines, shafts, generator disassembly and installation, oil coolers, compressors, and other equipment replacements. Projects may be multi-year in duration. This is an individual-contributor position with substantial cross-functional coordination across multiple sites and departments. The engineer works with contractors, plant operators, supervisors, engineers, and other project stakeholders; there are no direct people-management responsibilities. The expected ramp-up period is approximately three to six months, allowing the engineer to become familiar with processes, procedures, project-management practices, purchasing, and project-execution workflows. The position is based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with a hybrid schedule and travel to hydro facilities in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Upper Michigan. Most trips are expected to be day trips, and mileage is reimbursed according to client guidelines. The work includes visits to active operating facilities and construction sites, exposure to rotating equipment, rough terrain, and possible proximity to confined spaces. Facilities may not be fully handicapped accessible. Site-specific safety training is provided, including lockout/tagout procedures and other required safety protocols.
