About The Position

The Emergency Awareness & General Law Enforcement Intelligence Center (E.A.G.L.E.) is the central hub for real-time tactical intelligence, providing field officers with immediate, actionable information to enhance situational awareness during calls-for-service. As a Civilian (non-sworn) in the EAGLE center, you will offer real-time operational and analytical support to officers by monitoring video feeds, databases, and advanced technology systems. This role is crucial for supporting active investigations and critical incidents by tracking incidents, identifying suspects and vehicles, locating individuals, and communicating timely updates to officers. Additional duties include disseminating information, maintaining technology systems, preparing reports, and responding to requests for video evidence.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State issued Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of criminal law, investigation, statutes, ordinances, and crime prevention methods.
  • Knowledge of causes and prevention methods of crime.
  • Knowledge of technical report writing techniques.
  • Knowledge of procedures for gathering a variety of data.
  • Knowledge of research methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making operational decisions.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and re-alter priorities in response to change.
  • Ability to interpret complex information.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a public safety, or investigation capacity preferred.
  • Previous experience in a law enforcement agency is preferred.
  • Information Technology (IT), Computer Skills, Basic Technology skills preferred.
  • Knowledge or familiarity of the following computer programs is preferred – Computer Aided Dispatch, Police Records Management, Microsoft, Excel, and Graphics programs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitors calls-for-service and identifies potential calls where additional situational awareness could be provided prior to an officer’s arrival.
  • Maintains situational awareness and availability while assisting an active call-for-service.
  • Assists professional, sworn, and non-sworn staff in performing research, special projects, and administrative and technical functions.
  • Performs data collection and analysis.
  • Prepares draft narrative reports and technical documents.
  • Enters and manipulates data using a computer.
  • Maintains a variety of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Establishes and maintains systems related to assigned technical areas of responsibility.
  • Monitors area activities and reports progress as required.
  • Maintains statistical information on specific areas of responsibility.
  • Assists with a variety of administrative operations and prepares or recommends procedural modifications.
  • Assists the general public by providing information and addressing a variety of requests and concerns.
  • Documents all call-for-services where an E.A.G.L.E. Operator was utilized for assisting responding officers.
  • Conducts research on existing information sources (e.g., databases) to provide relevant information to officers responding to calls-for-service.
  • Provides information based upon observations, experience, and as requested, using the most appropriate communication channel (e.g., police radio, MDT, Instant Message, telephone).
  • Responds to internal and external requests for information and records from police, operational and administrative staff, citizens, news media, and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations.
  • May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned.
  • Maintains departmental equipment, supplies, and facilities.
  • Adheres to all universal bloodborne pathogen precautions.
  • Follows, ensures, and/or attends all scheduled training classes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
