About The Position
Our Tomlinson Environmental Services division is looking at hiring a Front End Commercial Driver. The operator is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Ontario DZ drivers’ License
- 1-2 years’ experience, ideally in waste collection or similar industry
- Knowledge of the city an asset
- Must have steel toed boots

Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a DZ truck to transport waste and recycling materials throughout the City of Ottawa and surrounding areas
- Responsible for the collection of waste/recycling containers on assigned route
- Transport waste and recycling material to disposal, transfer or recycling facility
- Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turn signals, and brakes
- Ensure safety requirements are followed in accordance with company policy
- Provide excellent customer service, leaving customer’s location clean and free of debris
- Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers
