Are you a passionate Dyslexia Specialist ready to empower students and schools? Here’s what you’ll need to join our team: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Certification: Valid Texas Educator Certification required. Dyslexia certification or completion of a TEA-approved Dyslexia training program (per Texas Dyslexia Handbook) preferred. MTA required. Additional Requirements: Knowledge of Texas dyslexia laws and the Texas Dyslexia Handbook, as well as familiarity with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the ARD process. Experience providing dyslexia intervention and progress monitoring is preferred. CPR certification is a plus. Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills preferred but not required. As a Dyslexia Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in supporting students with reading difficulties and helping them build the skills needed for long-term academic success. Your responsibilities will include: Provide Dyslexia Intervention: Deliver explicit, systematic, and multisensory instruction aligned with the Texas Dyslexia Handbook to support students with dyslexia and related reading difficulties. Develop Individualized Support Plans: Collaborate with campus teams to design and implement targeted intervention plans based on student data, evaluation results, and identified needs. Monitor Student Progress: Collect and analyze data regularly to track student growth, adjust instruction, and ensure interventions are effective. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, diagnosticians, and families to support student success. Participate in ARD meetings and Section 504 processes as appropriate. Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation and ensure services align with TEA guidelines, district procedures, and state requirements for dyslexia services. Support Student Growth: Provide structured support that addresses students’ academic needs while building confidence, independence, and literacy skills. Your expertise will help students develop strong reading foundations, overcome challenges, and achieve lasting success in the classroom and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Texas Educator Certification required.
  • MTA required.
