About The Position

We are seeking a Dynatrace Observability Engineer with extensive experience in Dynatrace APM to join our team. This role involves owning the Dynatrace platform, implementing comprehensive observability solutions, and driving performance and reliability engineering initiatives. You will work closely with application teams to ensure optimal application performance and contribute to incident management and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of observability principles, cloud platforms, and automation tools, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Requirements

  • 10 years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace APM (SaaS or Managed environment).
  • Strong understanding of observability pillars: metrics, logs, traces, events.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience configuring dashboards, alerts, tagging rules, management zones, and dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, APIs, and application performance concepts.
  • Proficiency with automation scripting tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML).
  • Familiarity with CICD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable interfacing with technical and business teams.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and drive technical ownership.
  • Collaborative mindset with a desire to improve systems continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Dynatrace platform, including upgrades, configurations, integrations, and governance.
  • Deploy and manage One Agents and Active Gates across cloud, on premise, and containerized environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Build and manage dashboards, alerts, SLOs, custom events, tagging rules, and management zones.
  • Implement end-to-end monitoring for applications, APIs, infrastructure, logs, and user experience.
  • Configure distributed tracing, service flow mapping, synthetic monitoring, and RUM.
  • Develop automated instrumentation strategies for microservices, serverless functions, and container workloads.
  • Analyze application performance, latency, bottlenecks, and error trends using Davis AI insights.
  • Partner with application teams to drive performance tuning and root-cause remediation.
  • Define SLOs/SLIs aligned with business KPIs and reliability objectives.
  • Integrate Dynatrace with CICD pipelines, ITSM tools, logging platforms, and event management systems.
  • Build automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.) to streamline deployments and configuration.
  • Support observability-as-code using Dynatrace Monitoring-as-Code (Monaco) or Terraform.
  • Provide observability insights during major incidents and post-incident reviews.
  • Deliver reports and analytics that highlight trends, improvements, and system health.
  • Act as a SME for monitoring strategies and observability best practices.
