About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Mixed Martial Arts Elective Consultant to lead engaging elective classes for students at SAM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in MIDLAND, TEXAS. This role is part of the DYAD program, which connects classroom learning with community-based expertise to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The consultant will leverage their real-world knowledge and first-hand experience to offer students an experiential learning model designed to build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills. The goal is to provide an experience through expertise, bridging the gap between the classroom and the community.

Requirements

  • Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in mixed martial arts or a related creative field.
  • Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning.
  • Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in mixed martial arts.
  • Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
  • Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
  • Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
  • Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
  • Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
  • Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
  • Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
  • Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
  • Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
  • Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through mixed martial arts showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
