About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD STEM Consultant for Prescott Academy in Baton Rouge, LA, to lead engaging elective classes for students. This role is part of the DYAD program, which connects classroom learning with community-based expertise to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The DYAD STEM Consultant will provide an experience through their expertise, helping students build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills through hands-on learning experiences in STEM-related electives. Students are grouped and participate in elective-style courses that may include technology, fitness, arts, and other enrichment experiences.

Requirements

Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.

Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in STEM.
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through STEM showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
