About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Music Consultant to lead engaging elective classes for students at Prescott Academy in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is part of the DYAD program, which connects classroom learning with community-based expertise to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The Music Consultant will help students build confidence, creativity, discipline, and habits of success through instruction in rhythm, instruments, vocal practice, movement, music appreciation, and other music activities.

Requirements

Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in music
Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting
Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills
Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning
Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in music
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through class showcases, performances, presentations, or other demonstrations of learning
