About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Music Consultant for its Bridge Academy in Baton Rouge, LA. This role involves leading engaging elective music classes for students as part of the DYAD Electives program. DYAD Electives is an experiential learning model designed to foster critical thinking, communication, creativity, and 21st-century skills through hands-on experiences. The DYAD model connects classroom learning with community-based expertise, bringing individuals with real-world knowledge to provide meaningful learning opportunities. The Music Consultant will help students build confidence, creativity, discipline, and habits of success through instruction in rhythm, instruments, vocal practice, movement, music appreciation, and other age-appropriate music activities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in music.
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through class showcases, performances, presentations, or other demonstrations of learning.
