About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Music Consultant to lead engaging elective classes for students at SAM HOUSTON ELEMENTARY in MIDLAND,TX. This role is part of the DYAD program, which connects classroom learning with community-based expertise to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The Music Consultant will help students build confidence, creativity, discipline, and habits of success through instruction in rhythm, instruments, vocal practice, movement, music appreciation, and other age-appropriate music activities. DYAD consultants provide an experience through their expertise, bridging the gap between the classroom and the community.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning
  • Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in music
  • Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach
  • Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program
  • Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment
  • Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period
  • Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations
  • Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences
  • Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership
  • Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction
  • Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences
  • Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program
  • Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through class showcases, performances, presentations, or other demonstrations of learning
