Bond Vet's DVM Student Externship Program offers 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mentorship-driven clinic environment. You will work directly with patients, assist with procedures, observe surgeries, and engage with pet parents under the guidance of experienced doctors and veterinary teams. This program provides an opportunity to sharpen skills, explore clinical interests, and grow as a future veterinarian. The externship includes exposure to urgent care cases and routine wellness scenarios, with valuable mentorship from experienced doctors. Key activities include client communication, observing treatment plan development and estimate creation, reviewing medical records, taking patient history, performing physical exams, assisting with treatments (medications, SQ fluids, IV fluids under supervision), placing urinary catheters, drawing blood, assisting in procedures/surgeries, and observing laboratory sample preparation and review of cytology/blood smear samples.
