The Duty Manager, under the direction of the Station Manager, is responsible for efficiently and profitably managing and directing ramp activities, providing a safe, high-quality product across a range of ground handling services to its customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of pertinent experience in the ground handling industry, ramp service.
  • Relevant experience in personnel management in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal)
  • Excellent English communication, oral and written.
  • Valid Driver’s License and airside permit D/A
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Customer focus and quality awareness.
  • Ability to deal with conflict.
  • Available and flexible to work various shifts (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays) according to operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for daily operations
  • Efficient Resource Planning (manpower, equipment) and managing scheduling.
  • Maintain and improve customer and company safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain good relations with customers and airport authorities.
  • Manage and control all staff assignments.
  • Hold daily briefings with all levels of management.
  • Accurately perform general payroll updates such as wage adjustments, vacation, banked time, monetary adjustments, etc...
  • Administer new hires, recalls, terminations, and changes via the Dayforce system.
  • Maintain, monitor, and report on agreed key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Coach and train all employees to improve operations effectively.
  • Ensure workforce adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the disciplinary and grievance process with labor relations.
  • Ensure that incident/accident reports are completed in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station, intending to reduce employee injuries, aircraft, and equipment damage
  • Other duties as assigned.
