Job Summary: Reporting to the Fleet and Logistics Superintendent, the Dump Truck / Tag-Along Driver is responsible for safely operating dump trucks and transporting heavy equipment using tag-along trailers to and from job sites across the Greater Toronto Area. This role plays a key part in supporting heavy civil construction operations by ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials and equipment while complying with all regulatory and safety requirements.

Requirements

Valid Class AZ driver’s license
Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR record
Minimum 5 years of experience operating dump trucks and hauling equipment
Proven experience with tag-along trailers and load securement
Familiarity with GTA routes, construction sites, and traffic conditions
Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations
Flexibility to work early mornings, extended hours, and weekends as required
Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., skid steer, mini excavator) is an asset

Responsibilities

Operate dump trucks to transport aggregates, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials to various job sites across the GTA
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment using tag-along trailers
Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers
Ensure proper load securement in accordance with MTO and safety regulations
Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation
Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and site personnel
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Ontario traffic laws
Assist with general labour duties on-site as required
Report mechanical issues, incidents, or safety concerns promptly
Maintain cleanliness and perform basic upkeep of assigned equipment
Other duties as assigned.
