About The Position

Emery Sapp & Sons is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to safely operate a dump truck, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective communication with team members. This role involves extensive travel and requires adherence to all safety policies and procedures. The driver will be responsible for accurate record-keeping, basic maintenance, and navigation to various job sites.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class B or A CDL
Valid DOT Med Cert with Non-Excepted Interstate self certification.
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for materials.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic mechanical skills for minor truck maintenance.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 3 years of experience operating dump trucks preferred.
Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a dump truck in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
Ensure load weight is in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition.
Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked.
Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate material transport and delivery schedules.
Adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures.
Perform basic maintenance on the truck when necessary.
Accurately navigate a dump truck using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off.
Properly wear and safely use PPE.
Properly record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
