About The Position

We want seasoned operators and deal professionals from any of the 19 industries VDS serves. You bring depth in one sector and at least one diligence discipline; we place you on deals where your experience changes the answer. Tell us your industry and we will build your first engagements around it. This is a contract-to-hire role with a defined path to a full-time VDS consultant position and a potential opportunity to become an Operating Partner in companies you help evaluate.

Requirements

10+ years in one or more VDS industries, as an operator, consultant, or investor.
Direct experience on at least 3 completed transactions, in diligence, integration, or portfolio management.
Working command of at least one diligence discipline listed in roles 2–8.
Ability to read a P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement and connect them to operations.
Clear, concise writing and confidence presenting to executives and investors.
Bachelor's degree required

Nice To Haves

MBA, CPA, JD, PE, or Lean / Six Sigma credentials valued.

Responsibilities

Join VDS deal teams on buy-side and sell-side diligence for PE sponsors and corporate acquirers.
Bring the industry view: how the target makes money, where margin leaks, and what "good" looks like in its sector.
Contribute to financial, operational, commercial, IT, tax, legal, or environmental workstreams, based on your strengths.
Test management's case against site visits, data-room evidence, and industry benchmarks.
Size synergies, risks, and value creation levers; turn them into an equity case and roadmap.
Write clear findings for investment committees, lenders, and integration teams.
Coordinate with investment banks, legal counsel, and accounting firms on each deal.
After close, help lead the 100-day plan, integration, and VDS Business System® rollout.
