About The Position

The DUC Building Manager is responsible for maintaining the security, order, and safety of the DUC and its occupants. This role involves coordinating emergency procedures, serving as a contact for special events, and providing immediate assistance while ensuring excellent customer service. The position also includes opening and closing duties, managing event setups using the Event Management System (EMS), and assisting various departments within the Dreyfus University Center.

Requirements

  • Must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certification courses within 8 weeks of employment.
  • Certifications must be kept up-to-date throughout employment.

  • Experience with the computerized Event Management System (EMS).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety and security of the building and its occupants.
  • Perform opening and closing duties daily in the Dreyfus University Center.
  • Use the computerized Event Management System (EMS) to run, read, and interpret reports for daily events and ensure proper setup.
  • Maintain contact with full-time and student staff and assist in requested areas.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers and their event needs, accommodating last-minute requests while adhering to policies.
  • Enforce building policies, manage conflict, and supervise building usage.
  • Provide assistance to users with architectural lighting and audio-visual systems.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Student Manager.
  • Provide light custodial services and building setup as needed.
  • Document events on an hourly basis to formulate a comprehensive computerized report.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
