About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining plant equipment and infrastructure, including electrical systems, mechanical components, plumbing systems, and fabrication. The position involves performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment. The individual will conduct preventive maintenance, safely use various tools and equipment, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. Collaboration with internal teams and external contractors is expected, along with strict adherence to company safety policies, quality system requirements, and ISO 9001 standards. Specific to the electrician role, this includes troubleshooting electrical components, drive controllers, diagnosing faults, and supporting PLC programming and control system operation.

Requirements

  • Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A)
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ongoing technical training in industrial automation, PLCs, and safety practices preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including e-mail
  • Tow-Motor, Crane Certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interface with all levels of the organization
  • Blueprint reading

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns to maximize equipment uptime and minimize production downtime.
  • Respond in a timely manner to emergency call-ins for facility and equipment repairs.
  • Maintain plant equipment and infrastructure, including electrical systems, mechanical components, plumbing systems, and fabrication as required.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, including assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and correct faults in machinery, responding promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities such as lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and inspections.
  • Safely use hand tools, fabrication equipment, welding methods, and diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meters) to complete repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, downtime, and preventive maintenance using the CMMS (FIIX), while following 5S and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors to complete maintenance and repair work.
  • Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE, housekeeping standards, and quality system requirements.
  • Ensure the requirements of ISO 9001 and Polycorp's QMS are conformed with all other duties as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components and drive controllers, including diagnosing faults and supporting PLC programming and control system operation.
