About The Position

The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can provide instruction in Spanish and English to students in an elementary school such that each student will gain the values, knowledge and skills needed to attain his or her full potential. The mission of the Waltham Dual Language School is to provide students with an education that will allow them to become bilingual and biliterate in English and in Spanish, demonstrating high levels of academic achievement in both languages, to develop a strong appreciation for multiculturalism, and to be culturally competent, curious learners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in Elementary, Grades 1-6.
  • Demonstrated subject matter competence, highly qualified, in the area of licensure.
  • Must be fully Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Excellent listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Skills in the specific subject matter of instruction.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Education endorsement preferred (or willingness to work toward the endorsement)
