About The Position

The Dual Controller is a financial leader responsible for overseeing the financial operations of two hotels: Homewood Suites by Hilton Carle Place and SpringHill Suites by Marriott Carle Place. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives. The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, partnering with Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, and Corporate Accounting to maximize profitability and maintain compliance with company standards.

Requirements

  • Hotel accounting or hospitality finance experience required
  • Strong knowledge of hotel financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
  • Experience with payroll review, cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable business recommendations
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with hotel accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with hotel and corporate leadership
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities across two hotel properties

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting and financial functions for both hotel properties
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review, cash management, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and accounting procedures
  • Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to improve revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with General Managers and department leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and expense management
  • Review daily revenue reporting and ensure the accuracy of financial data
  • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity
  • Analyze labor costs, operating expenses, and financial trends to support decision-making
  • Train, mentor, and support accounting team members as applicable
  • Assist with capital planning, asset management, and special projects
  • Serve as the primary financial resource for hotel leadership and corporate partners
