Sonos is seeking a DSP Software Engineer responsible for the real-time audio, DSP, and rendering software across Sonos products. This role requires expertise in signal processing, embedded systems, and software architecture, with strong proficiency in Rust, C++, and Python. The engineer will define requirements, write design documents, ensure acceptance criteria, and maintain roadmaps in coordination with cross-functional partners. Responsibilities include designing and building modular real-time audio and DSP components, integrating and optimizing machine learning models for audio workloads, and bringing in new multi-channel audio formats, codecs/decoders, and DSP algorithms. The role also involves designing hard real-time software pipelines, debugging audio routing and synchronization issues, and owning the testing and validation practice. Collaboration with acoustics, networking, hardware, application software, and audio system engineers is essential, as is setting engineering standards and mentoring other engineers.
