About The Position
InReach provides a wide variety of services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Independent Contractor for an adult female individual with developmental disabilities in Waxhaw, NC, in Union County. The role involves providing Community Living and Support Services for approximately 32 hours per week. The individual requires assistance with total care needs, including lifting, bathing, and feeding, and the DSP must be able to handle a wheelchair.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
- Must be able to handle a wheelchair
- Must be able to handle Total Care Needs that will require lifting, bathing, feeding
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population
Responsibilities
- Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
- Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
