About The Position

Come join our team here at United Cerebral Palsy of San Joaquin, Calaveras and Amador Counties! As a DSP (Direct Support Professional), you’ll support individuals with disabilities by helping build practical, everyday skills and providing personal care under the direction of program management. Key responsibilities include functional skills training, personal care assistance, safe lifting/positioning/transferring, behavior support using approved techniques, clear documentation, and staying calm and professional in high-stress situations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Strong verbal/written communication
  • Follow instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Valid CDL and clean driving record
  • Punctual, dependable, ethical, and customer-service focused
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Respectful and sensitive to diversity
  • General knowledge of developmental/physical disabilities, including seizure awareness
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR and meet California Community Care Licensing personnel standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in day/residential disability services preferred
  • Working knowledge of personal computers (highly desirable)
