Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student specializing in design or construction engineering
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • National Electric Code and other model codes
  • Computer-based drafting experience (AutoCAD)
  • Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office suite products
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship (F-1 Visa, OPT, CPT, etc.) is not and will not be available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Design experience, particularly in designing electrical systems or electrical systems for construction
  • NABCEP PV Associates certification preferred
  • Experience with industry-standard PV systems and energy modeling tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering deliverables, including plan and elevation drawings, schematics, calculations, and schedules in support of PV (photovoltaic) energy generation system design, for commercial and utility projects in the 1 MW to 200 MW scale.
  • Develop designs in consideration of company safety program and OSHA safety requirements for construction and system operation.
  • Create, organize, and maintain documents associated with projects’ basis of design throughout the project life cycle.
  • Communications with Project Managers, who coordinate scheduling and permitting for project execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.
