About The Position

Wraparound Community Services is a community habilitation program that offers people with disabilities choice and freedom to participate in community activities. This ever expanding program is dedicated to providing quality community based services to the individuals we serve. Comm Hab is designed to increase independence and community integration for people with disabilities. DSPs in this program will require reliable transportation as services will be performed within the community and transportation to and from the client's home will be necessary. WSHV is seeking to hire team-oriented staff for immediate opportunities in Newburgh, Middletown and throughout Orange County.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Driver's License required
• Reliable transportation required - mileage reimbursement

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as DSP/HHA/PCA or CNA preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills - health and personal safety, personal care and money management
• Support opportunities to work on personal skills in the community
• Travel train - teach people how to navigate in the community successfully
• Health and wellness - encourage healthy eating and exercise
• Self-advocacy and making informed choices
• Social skills and development - support people with learning appropriate social skills
• Money management
• Food preparation
• Safe use of public transportation
